Ben began working for the site on Neil's request. He was the driving force behind the technical changes from the site, from its original Frontpage-generated HTML to SSI, then PHP, and finally into the skinned Perl system it uses today. He co-authored the old yellow/pink style, and created the Plain Text, Purple, Yellow and Blue styles, the last of which is based on his own site. He quit after leaving school, having lost interest in the inner workings of the site, but took it up again a year later with great plans.

Rob created CommonRoom.org (then CommonRoom.org.uk) early in the space year 2000 AD, to keep contact details for those leaving the school. Its format remains fundamentally unchanged since then. If you want to thank (or throw eggs at) one person for the existence of this site, thank him. He left the site to Neil before going to University.

Neil Williamson

As the first to reply to a particular post by original forum administrator James Bradwell, Neil became the forum administrator, and was asked by Rob to take over the site soon after. In spite of making numerous changes to the forums, his biggest contribution to the site was probably asking Ben Quick to do it for him... although he has been more active recently, making changes to the template system. He also created the current default style "Elegant", raised Rob's "Classic" style from the dead and assisted in the creation of the old style.

Neil doesn't have time to work on more than one site in his spare time, any more, and concentrates on the Final Fantasy guide Caves of Narshe. He still maintains the forum, however.

James Bradwell

Bradwell ran the first Common Room Forum, and created the flash intro used on the old site. In a bizarre first-to-the-post thread, his admin powers were passed on to Neil around the time he left South Wolds.
